This Policy explains how the private Photography Archive of James Mendell collects, uses, retains, and protects information associated with archive visitors and account holders.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide, such as your name, email address, requested access level, family relationship or professional affiliation, project information, intended use, correspondence, favorites, contact-sheet activity, and download requests. We also collect limited access and security information, including account activity, consent records, download history, device or browser information, and Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.

How information is used

We use this information to review and verify access requests; administer accounts and roles; secure the Archive; record agreement to current policies; deliver account and request notifications; manage favorites, editorial review, permissions, and downloads; investigate misuse; maintain operational records; and respond to questions, corrections, privacy concerns, or legal obligations.

How information is shared

Information is available only to authorized Archive administrators and service providers that support secure hosting, storage, communications, administration, and protection of the Archive. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the Archive or its users, or in connection with professional legal or security advice. We do not sell personal information or use it for behavioral advertising.

Retention

We retain account, consent, request, permission, download, and security records for as long as reasonably necessary to administer the collection, document authorized uses, protect sensitive photographs, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Records may remain in protected backups for a limited period after removal from active systems.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to a private photographic archive. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please protect your credentials and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

People depicted in photographs

The collection includes historical images of identifiable people. If you are depicted in a photograph, represent a depicted person, or have a privacy, safety, identification, or sensitivity concern, contact us with enough information to locate the image. We will review the concern and may restrict access while doing so. A request concerning a likeness does not by itself determine copyright ownership or require a particular outcome.

Adults only

Archive accounts and access requests are intended only for people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly accept account registrations from children.

Your choices and contact

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information, subject to records we must retain for security, rights management, authorized-use documentation, or legal obligations. Contact esther@verbsconsulting.com with a privacy request or question.

Policy changes

Material changes will be published as a new version. Account holders may be required to acknowledge the revised Policy before continuing to use the Archive.
